Amphibian and Reptile Photo Collection:
Both amphibians and reptiles are cold-blooded and they both reproduce by laying eggs. However, reptile eggs have a hard shell and are buried in a warm nest while amphibians lay soft eggs without a protective membrane that are often attached to aquatic plants. When a reptile is born, it looks like a miniature adult. An amphibian hatches as a tadpole, breathing through gills. As they mature, they grow limbs and tails and eventually develop lungs.
