IRON PYRITE AND GOLD COMPARISON
Gold nuggets compared to "Fool's Gold"
The mineral iron pyrite has a simple cubic structure. It is also known as iron sulfide (FeS2) or Fool's Gold because of its similar lustre to gold. Gold (Au) is a malleable and ductile transition metal. Pyrite is sometimes found in association with gold.
