OXIDATION-REDUCTION: ZINC & HYDROCHLORIC ACID
(2 of 2)
Zinc Reacts With Hydrochloric Acid(aq) To Form hydrogen gas and aqueous Zn2+ion. Zn(s) + 2H+(aq) = Zn2+(aq) + H2(g): Zinc is oxidized -loses electrons. Hydrogen is reduced -gains electrons.
