Acidification of Complex Copper II Ions<br />
Nitric acid is added to a deep blue ammonaical solution of [Cu(NH3)4]2+. The solution is converted to the pale blue [Cu(H2O)4]2+. A precipitate of CuOH(s) also forms. Complexes like [Cu(NH3)4]2+ that exchange ligands rapidly are called labile.](https://m.psecn.photoshelter.com/img-get/I0000HXSuVNfvdbg/s/860/860/Fphoto-32379208A-2RM.jpg)
