LABGLASS: EQUILIBRIUM OF CoCl2 + HCl
Temperature Change Affects Cobalt Chloride's Color
At room temp solution of Co(H2O)6(aq) + 4Cl(aq) = CoCl4(aq) + 6H2O shows both pink Co(H2O)6 and blue CoCl4 ions present as violet color. Heating solution shifts equilibrium to form more blue ions and cooling it causes the pink ions to increase.
