BROMINE REACTS WITH UNSATURATED CYCLOHEXENE (2 of 2)
Alkene/Alkane Test
A 1% solution of bromine in carbon tetrachloride is droppered into cyclohexene, an unsaturated compound with a C=C double bond. The result is a colorless saturated liquid, 1,2 Dibromocyclohexane. The reaction is self-indicating.
