REDOX DISPLACEMENT REACTION: ALUMINUM & COPPER
(1 of 3 - Variations Available)
Aluminum Strip Placed In 1M Cu2SO4 (aq). NaCl is added to breach the coating of Al2O3. Then Al, with higher oxidation activity than Cu, dissolves into solution. Blue Cu2+ ion fades as copper deposits on the Al strip. Also known as a single replacement reaction.
