IRRIGATION ALONG THE NILE
Irrigated Crop
Annual summer rains in the Ethiopian highlands cause the Nile waters to rise. The flooding is controlled by diversion dams. The silt deposited along the banks of the Nile by the floods creates rich soil which supports agriculture.
