Sulfur is Liquid at 180C.
At about 180 deg.C the liquid sulfur is poured into cold water. The long tangled chains of the liquid do not have time to rearrange themselves into stable crystalline cyclic S-8 molecules resulting in an amorphous solid with rubber-like properties.
