SULFUR BURNING IN AIR.Lump Sulfur In Deflagration Spoon
Orthorhombic lump sulfur ignites in air above 261 degC with a blue flame to form sulfur dioxide gas (SO2). SO2 is slowly oxidized in the atmosphere to form SO3 which dissolves in rainwater to give sulfuric acid or acid rain.
