NEWTON RINGS
Interference Pattern Caused By Light Reflection
When a convex lens is placed on a flat plane lens, an air film of gradually increasing thickness outward is formed creating a series of concentric rings. Each interference fringe indicates an additional distance of a half-wave length between the lenses.
