HOOKES' LAW: SPRING STRESSED BY A WEIGHT
With & Without Attached Weight (1 of 3)
Hooke's law states that the stress upon a body is directly proportional to the strain, provided that the elastic limit has not been exceeded. The 1000g weight almost doubles the extension of the spring. It is storing elastic potential energy.
