PHASES OF WATER: SOLID, LIQUID & GASEOUS (1 of 4)
Water in Solid State - Ice
Solid ice cubes have a definite shape and volume. Water freezes at 0 deg C. or 32 deg F. at 1 atm., favored by enthalpy but disfavored by entropy. The entropy & enthalpy terms for both processes balance each other at 0 deg C.
