REDUCTION OF PURPLE MnO4 - ION TO Mn2+ ION<br />
Fe(NH4)2(SO4)2 Added To KMnO4(ctr) 0.2 M Ferrous ammonium sulfate (aq) is added to (lft) 0.02M potassium permanganate. The purple MnO4- is reduced to the  colorless Mn2+ ion  & shows the presence of the orange Fe3+ ion in the solution on the right. MnO4- +8H+ +5Fe2 ->Mn2+ +4H20 +5Fe3+
