CORROSION COPPER AND BRASS PIPES
With Copper Carbonate Deposits
In acidic water (pH less than 6) with high oxygen content, the metal may dissolve to form the copper ion Cu2+. A deposit can form on top of the oxide layer which typically consists of copper carbonate.
