HYDROGEN PEROXIDE OXIDIZES SODIUM BROMIDE
(2 of 2 - Variations Available)
H2O2(aq) Is Added To Clear Acidic NaBr(aq)
H2O2(aq) in pipette is added to clear acidic NaBr(aq) in test tube. H2O2 oxidizes Br- to Br2 in solution creating a yellow-orange color. Oxygen is reduced from O 1- to O 2- as in H20 (or OH-).
