Soft, Blue-white Metal. At. No. 31,  At.Wt. 69.72. Boiling Point: 2,204 C - Melting Point: 29.78 C. Found throughout the crust in bauxite, germanite & coal. Used in semiconductor production & in making LEDs (light-emitting diodes) and GaAs laser diodes. Predicted by Mendeleev & named eka-aluminum.
