ASIAN TIGER MOSQUITO (AEDES ALBOPICTUS)

This species was introduced to the United States in the mid-1980s from Asia and has been found to be a potential vector of some arboviral diseases such as West Nile Virus. Generally, only female mosquitoes feed on blood, while males are nectar feeders.
