SOLENOID: MAGNETIC FIELD GENERATOR
An Inductor Formed By Helical Winding of Wire
Running current through a coil of wire generates a nearly uniform magnetic field. It can be strengthened by adding an iron core. Its magnetic strength is affected by amount of current, the number of wire coils & magnetic permeability of the core.
