PRECIPITATION OF SILVER ANIONS IN TAP WATER
Silver Nitrate Solution Added to Tap Water
A few drops of 1.0M AgNO3(aq) are added to municipal tap water. A white precipitate forms due to the presence of certain anions (Cl-, CO3 2-, SO42-) that form slightly soluble silver compounds.
