GFP IN E.COLI
(Variations Available)
Green Fluorescent Protein in E.Coli
The gene for GFP from a jellyfish was isolated and cloned into a moveable piece of DNA called a plasmid. The plasmid was then introduced into E. coli. Now E. coli expresses the GFP of the jellyfish. Fluorescent proteins are used in cell lineage tracing.
