Iron Reacts Slowly With Hydrochloric Acid<br />
Fe(s) in 5M HCl(aq).  Iron reacts slowly with HCl to form yellow-green FeCl2(aq) & H2(g). Fe(s) + 2H+(aq) = Zn2+(aq) + H2(g): Iron is slowly oxidized, loses electrons. Hydrogen is reduced, gains electrons.
