Clear solutions of .1M Hg(CH3COO)2(aq) in pipette and .2M NaI(aq) in graduated cylinder are mixed resulting in a red precipitate of HgI(s) and a solution of CH3COONa(aq).  Hg(CH3COO)2 + 2(NaI) -> HgI2 + 2(CH3COONa)
