GALILEO THERMOMETER OR TERMOMETRO LENTOS. Principle of Galileo's Thermoscope. Specifically weighted floating bubbles predictably rise or sink in a liquid as the temperature of that liquid changes. The refraction of light by the liquid in the column causes the bubbles to appear different in size.
