VERY LARGE ARRAY (VLA) -RADIO TELESCOPES<br /> Array of 27 antennas connected electronically to synthesize a single telescope 20 miles in diameter. Radio waves from sky are reflected off telescope surface to a subreflector which reflects the waves to a receiver which amplifies faint waves.
